2 Golf Stats that will Blow You Away

Jordan Spieth earned $3,623 per stroke in 2015.

There’s little doubt that Jordan Spieth authored the most awesome golf season we’ve seen since the Tiger Slam. (link) He started by taking a red Sharpie marker to the record books at Augusta in one of the least dramatic and most inspiring Masters wins we’ve ever seen. Then he fanned the flames of hope when we hung on to win the controversial US Open at Chambers Bay. He was in contention at the final two majors as well.
Of his five wins this season, perhaps his final win that clinched the FedEx Cup was most impressive. Not just because it made him the youngest five-event winner in 84 years. It also won him $22 million in earnings. That averages out to just shy of $260,000 per round.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if instead of going to the ATM when you needed some cash, you just hit the links instead?

Bubba Watson hit 46 drives over 320 yards this season, but didn’t lead the tour in driving distance.

When you think of the big hitters on tour, names like Bubba and DJ come to mind. As they should! Bubba Watson was top dog in 2015 in drives over 320 yards hammering 43% of his tee shots that distance and farther. Not far behind him was Dustin Johnson at 41%, though Dustin did lead the tour in driving distance with a 317.7 yard average.

The biggest bomb of the year happened at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Chad Campbell stroked one 489 yards off the tee on the par 5 seventh at TPC Four Seasons Los Colinas. (He made birdie.)
We’re not sure if he did it entirely with muscle or if he used the cart path like Louis Oosthuizen did on the Euro Tour.
