Can’t believe the day I had!! First time in nearly 20 years I broke 80!! Played literally by myself and finished the front 9 in about an hour & 10 min. Played by myself today. Well I also played with Sean and Aiden(Father and son). Played pretty well. Could have shot lower if I didn’t have 3x 3 putts. 2 out of 3 of them were on par 3s. Played Augustine for the first time. Pretty course. And I had a good front 9. I honestly conked out at the end. And finished with a 90. Would have been cool to break 90. But it was a blast. Played a nice course in Stafford, VA yesterday with Da Sheriff, Huggy Bear, and Big $$. Really enjoyed the course AND the competition (from Da Sheriff).
I was up 3 at the turn and extended the lead to 5-strokes after 12. But, as you know, you can NEVER count Clay Norris out. He made a formidable charge -- going 2 over the rest of the way (13-18). I was holding on for dear life after taking a 6 on the par 3 14th (I know, right?) But, I was able to settle down and make a couple critical shots. The outcome wasn't decided until the final hole. To match his par on 18 (yeah, Scottie was working yesterday) I had to drain a 5 foot right to left putt for par to hold on to my 1-stroke lead and seal the victory.
