  Body was rested and had a decent nights sleep. Concentrated on what I should be doing and not what I shouldn't be doing. Made adjustments to my driver by put lie one notch above standard and slid weights one click toward draw to compensate for leaving the club face open on some tee shots. Had two birdies on the front nine which nullified two of the three bogies for a 37. Back nine was a test of my new strategy as I dug in and saved bogey on one hole after dumping my tee shot in the woods and on the other hole after dumping my 2nd shot in the ash and trash.

  Another bad day at black rock. Very resteless/sleepless night. I overslept. Tossed and turned a good portion of the night. Too many things on my mind. Still a few aches and pain. Three triples were my undoing. Went for the green in two on 18 (dumb move) Needed to score on 16 though 18 and DID NOT!!!!!!!! Putter has cooled off. Of course there is always the next day.

  Coming off of a rain out on Labor Day I did not play again until Thursday and as usual it was back 9 start. Cruised through the back 9 with all stress free pars and bogies. Turned the corner and at hole number one had a scruffy lie in which I chose a 9 iron to ensure I got to the green. I hit it a bit thin and it trundled up to the green for a 4 foot birdie putt which I made. Got passed my nemisis hole number 2 with a bogey and then had a great drive on number three only to miss club (I got a bit dyslesic) and picked up a 6 vice a 9 and went way past the green for a double bogey. Didn't realize I was looking at a possible sub 80 round until I got to the last 4 holes and I started to press a bit bogeying 3 of the last four holes for an 81. Macdonald, Alexander and Thad.

  Lots of cloud cover today and it sprinkled a bit. Lexington Oaks was much drier than it has been over the last month. Back 9 start today with not that many players out. Mr Robert, Mr Mac , Ralph and myself. Solid first 9 with a no thrills and frills 43. Started off with four consecutive bogies . Mr Robert after being gone for two weeks stayed in the hunt shooting a 44. Last nine was a struggle as two triples made the job of breaking 90 harder. A birdie on the 2nd par 5 and a par on the last hole kept me below 90 with an 89. Last hole recap is as follows - driver left rough leaving about 111 - 115 to a front pin location. Lift place and clean and pushed the ball just bit short and left and caught the sand trap. Was ready to play the sand wedge but changed my mind and went back to the cart and picked up the 7 iron. Flipped the ball out of the sand with the 7 irom but it ran a lot futher past the hole than I wanted about 10 feet. Made the 10 footer for par

  Course was still wet. Again lost at least 5 shots due to soggy fairways and uncut rough. New putter works quite well. Bogey on 14 caused by thinking ahead to what awaited me on 15 and triple on 15 was a result of me thinking to much about 15. Brown hung with me the entire round until he tripled number 17. Mr Mac struggled.. Had not picked up a club in over a week. Body was well rested.

  First time back on the links since the 21st of July. Course was still soaked from the weeklong record rain received here in Sunny Florida. After getting a triple bogey on the opening hole reeled off four stress free pars and closed the front nine with a 42. Back 9 was not as good to me as I thought 10 - 18 would be much dryer than the front since it was open for play when the front was still closed. Had at least six shots impacted by wet fairway, mud, etc.

  Stumbled around the course today with lots of big numbers. Missed two of three makeable birdie putts. Still having problems hitting the approach wedge any distance which cost me three greens in regulation. Guess I will have to learn how to hit the pitching wedge shorter distances and take the pressure off the approach wedge by hitting it for shorter distances instead of trying to push the distance. 2 week hiatus being taken from score keeping golf. Will get some work on the wedges while being a full time Grandpa for 2 weeks.

  Tough day on the course. Started on the back 9 and shot a 42 getting a bogey and double bogey on 16 and 17 which was more than I had on the other 7 holes. Missed two makeable birdie putts. Then went to the front and proceeded to make a double bogey, a bogey and a triple for grand total of 6 in three holes. Then went on to go only plus 3 for the last six holes. A mis hit 8 iron on number 8 after a fantastic tee shot and short wedge shot on number 9 allowed Mr Robert to sneak by me with a 86.

  I hit 9 greens in regulation and parred them all. Could not get untracked on the par threes. Number 2 continues to be my nemisis as I double bogeyed it today. Had lots of chances at birdies but kept getting just misses. Was + 1 through 5 holes on the back 9 then went double bogey, double bogey, par and finally double bogey. (Was leaking oil a bit) Ralph played his best 9 that I have seen since we began playing together. 44 with no triples.
