  These clubs are hitting longer. 4H went about 190. 5H about 180. 6i hits about 165. 7 iron hits about 140 to 145. 8 iron hits about 130. 9 iron is 110 to 120 and PW 100 to 110. I learned the PW is far too heavy and clunky for precision chipping. The 60W is only good for about 40 yards. No way to hit greens from like 20 or 30 yards w it.

  After using impact tape I was expecting a better irons game. Instead, irons were not that great and it was the wedge saves - which I have not practiced at all - that made it a decent round.

  not sure i was ready but had to take advantage lof good weather. a guy who is an ex pro looked at my swing and told me to keep right elbow in. so i worked on that (after 2 range visits). fatigue wore me down on back 9.

  pretty good contact w the new iPing Eye 2 irons. did have a couple tee whiffs (5i and 9i) but the recovery and wedge looked good. putting better than normal today. best round i have shot out here. the heat almost got me in the end.

  another round in the 60s. even w this score, there were still some mistakes. but it is starting to look like proof that those callaway X18s were too long, because the scores look better since i switched off of those.

  switched to my wife's irons - very different irons. graphite shaft, shorter clubs and weighted heel. had good results. better accuracy, less mishits, but sacrificed a bit of distance. after i warmed up with these, i got into a groove.

  i have been trying to break 70 on this course, and was on track at the turn. but the heat wore me down and i couldn't pull it off. lost touch with the putter also.
